Pima County Public Library
Pima County Library's Joel D. Valdez Main Library is facing significant maintenance challenges, leading to the decision to downsize the 90,000 sf branch and relocate the library into 3 conjoined properties on the same block — a 1950's bank building and 2 small annex buildings totaling 60,000 sf. As the role of urban libraries has evolved rapidly in recent years, the project is a unique mix of navigating technical complexity in tandem with the many aspirations of the downtown Tucson community.
